Another Week, Another Late Entry

That's right, my second article is even later than my first, know why? 'Cuz I'm a lazy bastard, that's why. and by that I mean I couldn't figure out what band I wanted to write about this time around, so this morning I once again let the magical shuffle decide for me. I promise I'll give you something good next week to make up for it. On to the band!
This week's most amazing band is the wonderful, the fantastical, the very sexy Incubus. I'm gonna start of by saying that if you if you haven't heard of Incubus, you should be ashamed of yourself and should probably get started here:

Are you shocked? Amazed? Blown away even? Yeah, I bet you were blown away by the sheer awesomosity that is this band, that and the massive amounts of pure sexiness pouring out of the vocal chords of one Brandon Boyd a.k.a. King of Sexdonia. If you couldn't tell by my previous statements, I really love Incubus, I've been listening to them for almost 8 years now, and I haven't regretted a single moment of it.
Incubus is, for lack of better musical classification, an alternative rock band that uses some of that DJ in a a rock band wicky-wack shit that became mildly popular in rock band from the very late 80's and early 90's, the difference being that it actually sounds good when Incubus does it, even in their really early music. If you couldn't tell by watching that, Incubus' music has changed dramatically since their beginning, but unlike many bands whose sound changed during their existence, Incubus stayed good.
There's not much else I can think to say at the moment, so just enjoy yourself some Incubus and have a fine day.

And The First Entry Goes To...

Ah, my first entry and it's a day late. I blame Valentine's Day entirely, as I was busy baking a cake and preparing dinner, and as such I regret nothing.
Anyways, on to the article. When I woke up today I had absolutely no idea which artist or musical group I felt like writing about, so I let the mighty shuffle function on my iTunes decide for me, and it has chosen Daedelus. Daedelus is an experimental electronic artist whom I discovered a few years ago due to a lovely friend of mine that I may mention a few more times in this blog, as she introduced me to quite a few rather fantastic artists. Now Daedalus' sound is kind of hard to describe unless you've listened to him, so here's a goddamn 40-minute chunk from one of his live shows for your viewing pleasure:

Hear that? Yeah, that's some fraking Daedalus bringing immense musical pleasure to your earholes, you're welcome. So Daedalus  is, as I said, an experimental electronic artist, and he also does some stuff I guess you could call trip-hop, but that's not why I enjoy him. The reason I enjoy Deadalus is that he incorporates the sounds of orchestral instruments into a lot of his music, as well as using clips and bits of old songs from the late 40s and early 50s, which I find to be a very unique and enjoyable experience. You see, I  love classical music and old jazz from the 50s, and to hear those sounds mixed with some brilliant electronic and experimental compositions makes me fucking ecstatic.

(His totally awesome suits and sweet-ass mutton chops may or may not also factor into my enjoyment.)

Anyways, I'm really damn hungry now, so I'mma go eat some pizza and read a good book, I hope anybody who reads this has a wonderful day. Never stop listening to good music.

And So It Begins...

Welcome to The Weekly Music Dose, a once Weekly blog/rant about whatever band I'm thinking about when I begin typing. The way I'm gonna try to do this is choose a musical genre at the beginning of each month and then blog about a different band I enjoy from that genre every Monday in that month. Hopefully this will work out.
I may eventually begin Reader's Choice months where I write a month's worth of blogs about band suggested by YOU (And others that may or may not be somewhat like you), but that's only a maybe for now.
I'm stating it here, just so we can get it out of the way, that I know that not all the bands I listen to are actually good, in fact I listen to quite a few bands because I enjoy just how bad they are. Also, we may have differing viewpoints on music, and I honestly don't care if you don't like my music because I'm mostly doing this blog for my own enjoyment, so please refrain from making posts along the lines of "OMG how could you like _BAND_? Their  music is so terrible!!" Because I will just delete it or totally ignore you.
Actually, there was a small bit in there that was a lie, I'm not just doing this for myself, I'm also doing this so that hopefully some people can discover new and interesting music, and maybe even be re-introduced to a band they had long forgotten.
Also, I like abusing commas.

So I'll probably officially begin this blog with this upcoming Monday, but I'm not really gonna have a specific genre until next month.
